Summary: Keith Hoeing has been involved in the residential construction
industry since he was a teenager. Working for a local builder during high
school and college, he learned the ins and outs of the business from the
ground floor. After a brief stint in the corporate world, he decided to
return to his roots and traded his cubicle in for a truck and has not sat
still since. |

Hoeing got his first taste of construction when he began working for the
builder who put his parents house up in less than 90 days. He worked
directly for the builder over the summers of high school and college. During
the slow times of the late 80’s, Keith learned all aspects of the industry
as the builder decided to keep his core unit and build homes from the ground
up without the use of subcontractors. Mr. Hoeing took a lot out of that
experience and built a home under their supervision as an internship over
the summer of his last year of college at the University of Scranton. Keith graduated with a BS in Business Management in 1994 from the University. Fearing the slow market he experienced in the late 1980’s, Keith ventured out of the construction industry and worked briefly as a manager for Averitt Express, a national trucking firm. Keith learned the trucking industry quickly and was promoted to an Outbound Manager within 3 months of work at the terminal in Roanoke, VA. However, the late hours and night shift steered him into another direction. In 1996, Keith started a Commercial Insurance Training Program with General Accident and USI, an insurance carrier and commercial brokerage. The goal was to learn the business and sell commercial insurance in the Valley. However, after completing the training program (ahead of schedule) and starting to sell insurance, he purchased a building lot and constructed his first home. Keith could not ignore his satisfaction and pleasure of building his home and decided to return to his love of constructing houses. In 1999, Keith accepted a training position with Traditions of America (TOA), a Lehigh Valley builder who specialized in over-55 communities. Keith quickly learned their system and was promoted to a Finish Superintendent, in charge of completing the units after they reached the drywall phase. Traditions of America was settling over 60 units a year and average building time was under 120 days. Soon other subdivisions were opened for TOA and Keith was left the responsibility of finishing their first subdivisions, in charge of construction from ground up. In 2001, Keith accepted a new challenge as the Residential Construction Manager for Ashley Construction. Ashley built anywhere from 15 to 40 homes a year. In the 3 years he was there, Keith was in charge of building over 100 townhouse units that sold in the range of $99,000 to $169,000. He also built single family homes that ranged from $349,000 to $899,000 selling price. Keith ran the entire construction department, including warranty, budgets, code compliance, sales, and whatever else it took to sell the units for profit. But due to the ever changing construction industry, Keith amicably left Ashley Construction as their focus shifted more towards developing and selling large tracts of land, rather than constructing homes. In the spring of 2004, Keith joined forces with David Sell at Reen Homes. By working closely with Sell and their Construction Manger, Tony Dimenichi, Keith quickly learned their building practices and was able to release Tony so he could focus on the development end of the business. Keith has been able to increase the pace of construction, while also maintaining Reen’s relentless pursuit of 100% customer satisfaction. Keith has worked with Dave and Tony to improve processes and increase focus on the bottom line. The efficiency of the ‘Reen Team’ has bolstered Keith’s confidence that together they can handle just about any challenge that is presented to them. And that is exactly why he can not sit still… |
